In addition to assisting others as President & Chief People Officer with DesigningHR, Heather serves as Chief Talent Officer with Children’s Home Society of Florida, where she delivers proactive talent strategies that enable CHS to do good for Florida’s children and families. Bringing more than three decades of experience to business and people-related challenges, over her career Heather has contributed millions in measurable value to organizations, from small business start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.  Her managerial scope has encompassed thousands of employees in a wide range of organizational phases, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Prior to joining CHS, Heather was with Ashley Furniture HomeStores, where she led efforts to drive corporate culture, employee engagement and leadership development strategies for the company’s retail and sales powerhouse. Before that, Heather was in her own global consulting practice for 15 years, after jumpstarting her career with AT&T Inc. where she was instrumental in creating leadership development systems for the company’s 100,000+ employees across all three business lines.

Known as the HR Whisperer, Heather is an active thought leader and has presented at more than 100 state and national conferences on HR and talent-related topics. She is past president of HR Florida, the SHRM-affiliated state council serving more than 15,000 HR professionals across 28 Florida chapters. Heather also paid it forward as adjunct full professor teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Human Resources, Organization Development, Management and Leadership.

In addition to holding multiple professional certifications, including Predictive Index®, Heather holds a Masters with Academic Distinction from Webster University and a B.A. with Honors from Moravian College. Heather is also proud to share that in 2023, she was conferred with a National HR Executive of the Year Honor Award by HR Executive magazine.

When Heather’s not focusing on that next big talent idea, she’s trying to guess what the next hot interior design color is going to be. Most importantly though, through her personal and professional work, Heather’s helping Florida’s workforce – and future workforce – achieve their full potential.
